Something Different. A Military Ice Fishing Contest

The Beyond the Yellow Ribbon of Owatonna will be sponsoring a Military Ice Fishing Contest in February. It's a free event open to any Steele County Military service member, veteran or child or grandchild of a service member or veteran.

The contest will take place on Saturday, February 16 from 11-2PM at Lake Kohlmier. Lunch will be provided to participants. The first 50 children who register will get a free ice fishing pole and tackle box. There will be prizes for the 3 biggest fish by weight.

Participants need to pre-register by February 6 by contacting admin@owatonnayrc.com. You will need to include your name, service connection and contact information. You may bring along a portable ice house and fishing electronics should you choose.
