Former Owatonna Indians baseball and football players are invited to attend a social event featuring new Owatonna High School hall of fame inductee Dale Timm on Thursday.

The social time is 6-8PM at Brooktree Golf Course in Owatonna on Thursday. The formal induction into the hall of fame occurs Friday.

Timm was a coach in Owatonna from 1966-91. He was an assistant coach on the 1974 OHS state championship baseball team. Timm was the head coach for the 1988 title season and was named Regional and State Coach of the Year. He was the Big Nine Coach of the Year four times.

Timm was an assistant on the OHS football staff for 10 years. He was also a KRFO play-by-play broadcaster from 1967-85. He currently lives in Arizona.

Five new members will join the Owatonna Athletic Hall of Fame this week. Longtime owner of KRFO radio and play-by-play broadcaster Todd Hale and athletes Tim Braaten, Joe Kiley and Laura Kenow round out the hall of fame class.

A public reception is scheduled for 3PM in the OHS commons and small group forum. The five will also be introduced at halftime of Friday's football game as Owatonna hosts top 10-ranked Rochester John Marshall. Wells Federal Bank is hosting a free pregame picnic in the tennis court parking lot starting at 6PM.
