Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation Celebrates Anniversary

The Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation will observe their 30th anniversary next week. The SMIF, based in Owatonna, serves a number of southern Minnesota counties with loans to businesses, support and management of local community foundations and more.

Their annual luncheon will be Wednesday, October 12, from noon to 2:30PM at the Owatonna Holiday Inn. Highlights from the past 30 years will be shared. Neal Cuthbert of the McKnight Foundation will share a special message as well. Tickets are $30 and available by calling (507) 455-3215. The menu selection includes spiral sliced honey maple glazed ham or roasted breast of turkey with pan gravy or salad with assorted vegetables.

Later on the 12th there will be an open house celebration at the Owatonna Art Center from 4:30-6:30PM. The public is welcome to enjoy free appetizers and a cash bar and learn more about the Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation's 30 years.
