In May the Owatonna Arts Center will be hosting the Steele County Art Exhibit.

Artists who are 18 and older who are residents of Steele County or members of the Owatonna Arts Center are eligible. Applications are available between 1PM and 5PM Tuesday through Sunday at the Owatonna Arts Center, 535 Garden View Lane. A reminder to enter from the front of the building because the stairs in the back under construction. Applications are due back on Tuesday, May 3.

Artists may show in crayon, pastel, hand-pulled prints, pen and ink, oil, watercolors, charcoal, also sculptures and clay.

Upcoming events at the Owatonna Arts Center includes:

  • Meet the Artist Mary McCartney on Sunday, April 17, between 1PM and 5PM. Her watercolors titled "Our Natural Treasures: Art & Nature, A Closer View" are on exhibit until April 24.
  • Also on Sunday, April 17, the Owatonna Junior High School Orchestra and Jazz Band will perform at 2PM.
  • Lux String Quartet performs on Sunday, April 24, at 3PM.
