The Huskies scored first on the co-Big Nine champs, but Rochester John Marshall came back to beat Owatonna High School 3-1 in the Section 1AA quarterfinals at the Rec Center.

A goal tender and defensive battle unfolded Thursday night in Rochester with John Marshall coming out on top to advance to Saturday's 5:30PM semifinals against defending state champion Lakeville North.

Senior net minder Brady Meyers of JM and sophomore standout Ryan Johnson traded saves all night. Owatonna seniors Noah Scheid and Alec Holcomb combined on a power play goal in the first period. JM dictated tempo in the second period and scored on a 2-on-1 and while short-handed. The Rockets added an empty-net goal in the closing minute of the third period for their 20th win of the season. The Huskies end at 15-10-1.

Seniors on OHS include Scheid, Holcomb, Trase Wencl, Sam Hylle, Nick Brown, Kade Friedrichs and Austin Medvec.
