OHS boys basketball beat #5 Mankato West. Huskies wrestling won its dual meet opener. Owatonna boys hockey captured their home opener, in overtime. (UPDATED)

Owatonna boys basketball knocked off #5 ranked Mankato West 55-40 at the OHS gym. Alex Emanuelson scored 19. Mason Thein added 11. The Huskies (2-2) host Rochester JM Tuesday.

OHS girls basketball outscored Mankato West 83-71. Four players reached double figures, led by Syd Schultz with 23 and Anna Edel at 18. The Langeland sisters combined for 21 points. OHS (2-2, 2-0 in the Big Nine) hosts Chanhassen Saturday night at 7:30 on KRFO AM 1390.

Huskies wrestling opened its dual meet season with a 48-17 win at Rochester Mayo. OHS began the match with three straight pins from Peyton Robb, Hayden Fox and Joe Fox. Griffin Thorn added a pin late in the match. OHS wrestles at Hasings on Friday vs the Raiders and Farmington. DUE TO A SCHEDULE CHANGE, OWATONNA WILL WRESTLE AT 6:30 AND 8:00 ON FRIDAY AT HASTINGS.

OHS boys hockey held its home opener and came out with a 5-4 overtime victory over Rochester JM. Noah Scheid, Trace Wencl, Alec Holcomb, Michael Brein and Brady Heaney all scored for the 1-2 Huskies. Owatonna plays at Winona Saturday afternoon.

Owatonna girls hockey lost to Rochester JM 7-0. The Huskies will host Winona Saturday.
