Owatonna girls hockey won its second straight game. NRHEG boys basketball won its season opener. Prep Bowl wrapped up with three more state champs being crowned.

OHS girls hockey beat Mankato East on Saturday 3-1 for their second win of the weekend. Margo Achterkirch netted two goals, a day after a hat trick in the 5-1 win over Eveleth-Gilbert. Jenna VonRuden scored for the second straight night. The Huskies(3-2) host Mayo Tuesday at Four Seasons in Owatonna.

NRHEG boys basketball opened its season Saturday with an 88-71 victory over Redwood Valley. Three Panthers reached 20+ points: Oakley Baker, Trevor Tracy and Spencer Tollefson.

The Steele County Blades junior hockey lost at Maple Grove 7-3. The Energy jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first period. The Blades play at Rochester Sunday at 5:35.
