S.A.F.E. is an acronym for Save Animals From Euthanasia. They are similar to a Humane Society that takes in stray animals with the goal of finding good permanent homes for them. As of now they're dealing primarily with dogs. The Faribault chapter has been around for 14 years and serves a large area, not just Rice County. They have foster homes in Rice and surrounding counties.

Saturday, February 11, they'll have their chili feed fundraiser. Hours at the Faribault Eagles Club will be 4-8PM. Tickets are $7 in advance and $8 at the door. Children younger than 5 eat free. The event will also include a silent auction, bake sale and music by Jimski Karaoke. Money raised will go toward dog food and other supplies for foster families.

You can learn more by going to the Safe Sanctuary website or go to their Facebook page. You can call them at (507) 334-7901.

The Faribault Eagles is at 2027 Grant Street.
