Owatonna boys hockey had its five-game Big Nine winning streak snapped on Saturday with a 5-1 loss to John Marshall. That probably ends faint hopes for a home playoff game.

Leading 1-0 after two periods, Rochester John Marshall scored twice early in the third period on their way to a 5-1 victory at Four Seasons Centre in Owatonna and a season sweep of the Huskies. Owatonna outshot JM 29-26. The Rockets remain unbeaten in the conference at 11-0.

The game was a possible playoff preview. JM seems have a lock on a home playoff game as the No. 4, or possibly No. 3, seed. The Huskies appear to have the fifth spot for now. Farmington and defending champ Lakeville North should be the top two, with Lakeville South just behind.

Owatonna plays at Albert Lea on Tuesday at 7:30PM on KRFO AM 1390. The Huskies go to Winona on Thursday for a 6:30PM face off.
