Owatonna versus Faribault and NRHEG against WEM are a couple of circle-the-date games in local sports. Those rivalries resume Friday night with both games on the radio.

Owatonna (1-1) goes to Bruce Smith Field to face the Falcons (1-1) at 7PM in a Big Southeast crossover game. The Huskies are coming off a 26-7 win over Rochester JM while Faribault blanked Red Wing 41-0 Friday night. Owatonna has won five straight over Faribault. Four of those have been one-sided games. The 2012 featured one of the greatest comebacks in OHS football history as the Huskies rallied from a 41-7 halftime deficit to win 44-41.

Friday's game broadcast on KRFO AM 1390 begins at 6:30PM with kickoff at 7PM. Special feature interviews will include OHS seniors Nathan Deason and Brett Solie.

NRHEG (1-1) hosts Waterville-Elysian-Morristown (1-1) at 7PM Friday in New Richland. The Panthers topped Lester Prairie / Holy Trinity last week. The Buccaneers dropped a 7-6 overtime decision to Lake Crystal-Welcome-Memorial in week two. In 2015, WEM edged NRHEG 13-7. Radio coverage on Kat Kountry 105FM begins at about 6:40PM.

In other local games, Blooming Prairie plays at St. Clair, Medford hosts Mankato Loyola and Triton entertains Winona Cotter on Hall of Fame Night. Faribault Bethlehem Academy at Kenyon-Wanamingo is a KDHL broadcast.

Around the Big Southeast District, Mankato West is at Rochester JM, Rochester Mayo goes to Austin, Red Wing is at Rochester Century, Mankato East travels to Northfield and New Prague is at Winona.
