The Owatonna girls basketball team dropped a 55-53 home decision to Northfield. The boys game went to the Raiders 80-67 in Northfield.

The girls game was a close game throughout and came down to a pair of Raider free throws with less than one second to go for the 55-53 victory. Owatonna's Sydney Schultz had tied the game at 53-53 just before that. She led Owatonna in scoring with 28 points. No. 10AAA Northfield improves to 5-0 while the Huskies drop to 4-2 and had their four-game winning streak snapped. The Huskies face another challenge Saturday afternoon when they go to top 10-ranked Winona for a 3PM contest.

Owatonna's boys battled foul trouble all night at the Raiders' gym in an 80-67 setback. The Huskies trailed 41-29 at the half, but battled back to within four points in the second half. Dalton Kubista led OHS with 24 points. Andrew Jackson added 20. Northfield (3-1) shot 33 free throws to Owatonna's four. The Huskies (1-1) play at top 10-rated Apple Valley on Thursday night at 7PM on Kat Kountry 105FM.
