Cold, blustery conditions won't stop local softball teams from starting section playoff action on Monday. Owatonna's golfers will also battle the weather during the conference tournaments.

Blooming Prairie softball will open at home Monday afternoon about 5:45PM against the winner of the Glenville-Emmons / Lyle-Pacelli game. The Awesome Blossoms are the No. 2 seed in the subsection. Medford plays Southland in a play-in game in Hayfield. The winner faces the top-seeded Vikings about 5:15PM Monday.

OHS boys and girls golf are playing in the Big Nine conference tournaments Monday. The boys event is in Faribault. The girls are at Eastwood in Rochester. Red Wing leads both the boys and girls standings after their strong regular season.

Regular season sports on Monday include Owatonna baseball at Red Wing at 4PM, Blooming Prairie baseball hosting Goodhue and the Huskies girls lacrosse team with a home game against Rochester JM at Husky Stadium at 7PM.
