After a quiet start to Friday's Big Southeast crossover game at Art Haas Stadium in Austin, the tempo picked up significantly midway through the second quarter. In a two-and-a-half minute span of game time Owatonna and Austin combined for six touchdowns. The barrage turned an Owatonna 18-7 lead into a 38-27 advantage.

The back-and-forth blows began with 5:50 remaining before halftime as Abe Havelka hit Jason Williamson on a swing route that turned into a 53-yard TD connection and a 26-7 OHS lead. Austin answered with a rapid-fire, five-play, scoring drive with Tate Hebring hitting Gavin Owens for a 14-yard score, cutting Owatonna's lead to 26-14 with 5:09 left.

Williamson returned the ensuing kickoff over 80 yards for a touchdown with 4:57 left and pushed the Huskies' lead to 32-14. Austin countered with a two-play, 78-yard drive, with Joe Seeman running 45 yards for the score in pull within 32-20. The drive took :35.

Owatonna went the other way in two plays including a 57-yard scoring strike from Havelka to Noah Budach to go ahead 38-20 with 3:33 to go. Austin returned the kickoff over 70 yards for a touchdown with 3:20 left before halftime to make the score 38-27.

The Huskies slowed the pace for the next drive, going 60 yards in 11 plays, using up the remaining time for a 44-27 lead at the break on a Williamson one-yard plunge. He also ran in the first two touchdowns of the night in the first quarter and Havelka hit Alex Raichle with an early second quarter score.

Havelka added a fourth touchdown pass with a 25-yard play to a wide open Dalton Kubista. Williamson ran in two more scores in the second half, giving him five touchdown runs for the night and over 200 yards on the ground, in addition to the receiving score and kickoff return. Ethan Walter capped the 70-36 victory with a 47-yard TD run.

Owatonna was only successful twice with a point after try on their 11 touchdowns. The Huskies amassed about 660 yards of offense, to Austin's 375. OHS (3-0) travels to Rochester John Marshall Friday September 23. Austin (2-1) plays at Faribault in week four.
