Pesticide Applicator Workshops in Southern Minnesota
Farmers who have private pesticide applicator permits that expire March 1 have three ways to renew their permits.
Take the written exam that's available at your county Extension Office. Mail the $75 permit fee along with your test answer sheet in the addressed envelope provided.
You can also take the exam online by going to: http://www.extension.umn.edu/agriculture/pesticide-safety/private.html. The $75 fee is paid by credit card.
You may also attend a Recertification Workshop in the area. They will be held:
- Thursday, January 21, at 12:30PM in the 4-H Building on the Fairgrounds in Faribault
- Tuesday, January 26, at 9AM at the Blooming Prairie City Center
- Wednesday, January 27, at 6PM at the Steele County Community Center in Owatonna
- Wednesday, February 17, at 6PM at the Northfield Senior Center.
When attending one of the workshops, bring along an official picture ID along with your current permit card and a $75 check to cover the cost of the workshop.
Those applying for the private applicator's permit for the first time must take either the written or online test.
You can obtain more information by contacting either the Steele County Extension Office at (507) 444-7685 or the Rice County Extension Office at (507) 332-6109.
