Owatonna senior Jacob Johnson capped his high school track career with a pair of top-five finishes in the hurdling events at the state track and field meet at Hamline University.

Johnson finished second in 110 high hurdles, an event he took fourth in as a junior. On Saturday Johnson ran the race in 14.28 seconds, about a quarter of a second faster than Friday's preliminaries. The winner was Isaiah Weston of St. Michael-Albertville in 14.06.

In the 300 hurdles Johnson ended up fourth in 38.47 seconds, more than a full second faster than Friday. The winning time was 38.07 by Evan El-Halawani of Lakeville North. Johnson will run the hurdles at South Alabama in Mobile, a Division I institution.

The OHS girls 4x200 relay finished third with a time of 1:42.21, bettering their qualifying time. Team members include Steph Kretlow, Syd Schultz, Karissa Gregory and Margo Achterkirch. The winning time was 1:40.79. Owatonna's 4x100 finished eighth on Saturday with the same group of runners.
