Owatonna's annual Lighted Holiday Parade is Thursday, December 1, starting at 6PM. The parade will culminate with the lighting of the lights in Central Park at 6:30PM. This year Edith and Jean Zamboni will flip the switch. The OHS Carolers will be performing in the band shell. Those still interested in being a part of the parade may contain the Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce. Businesses will be open until 8PM Thursday night as well.

 

The Steele County Historical Society invites you to their Christmas in the Village starting on Friday, December 2, from 4:30-8PM and again on Saturday from 10AM to 2PM. A soup and chili supper will be served from 4:30-6:30PM at the History Center. Cost is $7 for adults and a hotdog meal for children will be available for $4.

Activities both days include horse-drawn wagon rides, Santa Claus' Cottage, scavenger hunt, holiday cookie sale, lefse demonstrations, children's hands-on crafting and more.

The Sons of Norway will serve up their Norwegian Meatball Supper in the History Center on Saturday night from 5-7PM.

The Holiday Home tour will take place on Sunday, December 4, from noon to 5PM. There are eight homes on the docket this year. Tickets along with map are on sale now for $15 at the Historical Society, Kottke's and Tri M Graphics.

Other Owatonna happenings this weekend include the It's Christmas holiday exhibition opening at the Owatonna Art Center. The OHS Carolers will be singing at 4PM on Sunday at the Art Center as well.
