The extreme heat warning from the National Weather Service didn't stop people from taking in the activities and attractions of the annual Crazy Days in Owatonna.

Temperatures peaked around 90 degrees both Thursday and Friday, with only a slight decline expected Saturday. Shaded spots filled quickly in Central Park and any breeze was a relief. A car show and performance by Mischief and Mayhem capped the opening night. Businesses set up sale tables inside and outside their establishments with bargains on display.

A group of children crowded the band shell for the crazy hair contest Friday. The bouncy house was shaking and people were cooling down with a malt from the Steele County American Dairy Association malt stand.

Saturday's events include the farmer's market from 7AM to 2PM. Yoga will be at 8AM at the former State Theater spot. Camp Pillsbury holds a performance at 8:30AM in Central Park with Greg the Great magician holding a 9:30AM presentation. A color dash 5K fun walk or run starts at 11AM, as does an Owatonna Gymnastics Club performance.
