Owatonna Woman’s Club Presents Jivin’ Ivan

Each November the Owatonna Woman's Club presents a fundraiser for a few area charities. This year's event will be a Swing Fling with Jivin' Ivan at the Owatonna Eagles Club on Saturday, November 19, from 7-11PM. The featured music is swing tunes from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Around 8:30PM appetizers and dessert will be served with two buffet lines followed by more music.

Jivin' Ivan and the Kings of Swing was formed about 12 years ago when it grew from a conversation about music on a local golf course. The group is composed of Dallas Musselman on vocals; Mike Hildebrant on violin, guitar and banjo; Mark Whillock on drums; Doug Madow on keys; Paul Ousely on bass; and Ivan Whillock on guitar, trombone and vocals.

In May the Woman's Club asks for nonprofits that would like to be considered for proceeds from their annual fundraiser. A committee then makes recommendations. This year's beneficiaries will be Transitional Housing of Steele County and Hospitality House.

Tickets are on sale now at Kottke's for $25 or $30 at the door.
