The Owatonna girls and boys soccer team will open their playoffs Tuesday at the Lincoln Complex with back-to-back games. The girls play at 5PM, followed by the boys at 7PM.

The Owatonna girls are the fourth seed and will host fifth seed Farmington. OHS (9-6-1) has won their last three matches. The Huskies are averaging 2.5 goals per game and are giving up about 1.5 with six shutouts. The Tigers (4-8-4) are scoring less than one goal per game and have been shutout nine times. The teams did not face each this season.

Top seed and top-ranked Lakeville North hosts New Prague on Tuesday. The other quarterfinals are Rochester JM at Lakeville South and Rochester Century at Big Nine champ Rochester Mayo. Lakeville North has won the last four Section 1AA titles. The Huskies have lost to the Panthers in the semifinals each of the past two years.

The Owatonna boys' soccer club is on an eight-game winning streak heading into the playoffs and earned the No. 2 seed behind conference champ Rochester Mayo. The OHS boys will host Rochester Century on Tuesday at Lincoln. Owatonna (11-2-2) beat Century (2-13-1) 5-0 on September 3. The Huskies are averaging nearly three goals a game and giving up less than one with seven shutouts. Century has been shutout eight times and is averaging just over one goal per game.

Big Nine champion Rochester Mayo is the top seed and hosts New Prague on Tuesday. The other quarterfinals are Lakeville South at Farmington and Rochester JM at Lakeville North. The Huskies have made the section finals three straight seasons, winning the 1AA title in 2012 and 2013.

Semifinals for both the boys and girls are October 15, with the section finals October 21 at the highest remaining seed.
