The Huskies swept Winona 3-0 Tuesday in their home away from home this season at the Medford gym. It was the first of three matches the Huskies will host in Medford

OHS built a big lead in the opening set and held off a Winhawks rally for a 25-15 win. The Huskies rallied from a 14-6 deficit to win the middle set 25-23 and closed the door with a 25-18 win in the third set.

Lexi Langeland led the attack with about 15 kills. Sydney Schultz added about 10. Kaitlyn Madole delivered a trio of kills in the third set. Karissa Gregory had several ace blocks. Samantha Mundale, Tate Peterson and Olivia Spatenka picked up some highlight digs. Madie Kubista handled most of the setting for the night.

Owatonna (5-9, 1-2 in the Big Nine) will host Rochester Century on Thursday on Youth Night with Owatonna Parks and Recreation players getting in free. There will be a poster signing event after the match. The gym floor at Owatonna is in the process of being replaced after being damaged by water this summer.

In other OHS action on Tuesday, the girls soccer team scored a late goal for a 2-1 victory over Rochester John Marshall at Lincoln and the girls tennis squad topped Albert Lea 6-1.
