Owatonna Storm Update

Crews are in the process of cleaning up Owatonna after last week's storms. City officials have told KRFO radio that residents have until September 30 to put brush curbside. Refer to the city website for full details. If choose you may bring your brush and leaves to the compost site but there is a charge involved.

Owatonna Public Utilities reports that they are down to only 45 sites without power. The hope is that the power will be restored to these final places by noon or early afternoon today(September 24) Crews from Blooming Prairie, St. James, Rochester, Austin and Shakopee have assisted in the power restoration. If you're without power this afternoon,call OPU at (507)451-1616. A reminder to check your mast or the spot where the power runs into your home. If it's damaged you'll need to call an electrician first.
