Five Owatonna High School varsity teams competed Tuesday. The Huskies girls and boys soccer teams plus the girls tennis team scored wins.

Owatonna soccer swept Winona. The girls won 4-1 at Paul Giel Field in Winona. The OHS boys blanked the Winhawks 4-0 at the Lincoln Complex. Juan Maya and Nate Smith each scored twice. Thursday the Huskies play Rochester Century. The boys will be in Rochester and girls at home. On Saturday, Owatonna hosts a doubleheader with Lakeville South.

OHS volleyball got swept by Northfield on Tuesday 25-17, 25-22, 25-19. The Raiders (9-1) are off to a very strong start with virtually the same lineup as last season. Northfield is receiving votes in the AAA statewide rankings. Owatonna's Lexi Langeland and Sydney Schultz each had about 15 kills on Tuesday, but OHS committed too many errors. OHS plays at the Farmington tournament Saturday. They will host their first home meet Tuesday, September 20, against Winona. The varsity and junior varsity will play at Medford High School due to the water damage to the floor at OHS.

Owatonna girls tennis swept Faribault 7-0 on Tuesday and will host Northfield on Thursday afternoon. OHS girls swimming lost to Century 94-89. The girls go to the Mankato East Invitational on Saturday.
