The Huskies used a punishing ground attack and strong defense to win their sixth straight game and get a win in front of a big homecoming crowd Friday night.

Owatonna ran the ball more than 50 times for more than 450 yards. A couple of long touchdown dashes highlighted the night. Sam Hylle went for 48 yards late in the first quarter that staked the Huskies to a 21-0 lead by the quarter break. Late in the fourth, Bryce Goodwin capped the scoring on a similar-looking 58-yard run up the hash marks for the final touchdown in the 52-0 win.

OHS held the Trojans to fewer than 100 total yards and got their second shutout of the season. Owatonna forced New Prague into four first-half turnovers. The first was an interception by Jake Borchert that he returned for about 25 yards for the first score of the game.

The Huskies are 6-1 overall and 4-0 in the Red Division of the Big Southeast District. Owatonna closes out its regular season Friday, October 9, against Rochester Century (2-5, 2-2). New Prague (0-7, 0-4) closes out their season hosting Rochester JM (4-3, 2-2).

The Blue Division of the district has a battle of unbeaten teams set up for next week with Mankato West playing at Winona. Each team is 7-0.
