Owatonna advanced to the Section 1-5A title game with a 58-0 demolition of Austin on Saturday. Blooming Prairie and Triton lost their games. NRHEG plays Monday night.

The Huskies sprinted to a 44-0 halftime lead in the rain at the OHS football field. Owatonna scored on their first offensive play from scrimmage in each half en route to reaching the section final for the first time since their state title year in 2013. After a good return of the game's opening kickoff, Abe Havelka threw a strike to Noah Budach for a 55-yard touchdown.

Jason Williamson and Griffin Thorn each had two touchdown runs in the first half. The Huskies also got two points on a safety on a snap that sailed over the head of the punter. It was an omen of things to come for the Packers.

Austin had two other bad snaps on punts. One set up the Huskies at the Packer seven-yard line early in the second half. Field conditions deteriorated and became quite muddy even after the rain stopped. Austin started several of their drives in the second half in the worst part of the field. Players had trouble with their footing and Austin's quarterback couldn't get a good grip on the ball, with many of his passes going well off target.

OHS gained about 375 yards while holding Austin to less than 100.

The Huskies host Northfield on Friday, November 4, in the section final. The Raiders held off Rochester Century on Saturday 20-18. Owatonna beat Northfield 21-3 earlier this season.

Blooming Prairie was eliminated by Rushford-Peterson 41-12 in Section 1A. Triton fell to Zumbrota-Mazeppa 21-6 in Section 2AA semifinals. NRHEG plays at Kenyon-Wanamingo on Monday at 7PM on KDHL AM 920.
