Owatonna High School boys lacrosse opens Saturday, April 11, at Hopkins. The girls go to Hastings on Tuesday, April 14, for their opener. The home opener for both is Saturday, April 18.

Lacrosse is the last high school sport to get started in the spring. After a couple of weeks of practice, the OHS boys and girls are ready to play. The OHS boys begin their season at Hopkins on April 11 at 1PM. They play at Chaska on April 17 before hosting their home opener on April 18 as part of a double-header with the girls at the OHS stadium. The OHS girls play at Hastings on April 14 and travel to Rochester Mayo on April 16.

Each team graduated heavily off their 2014 squad. The Huskies boys graduated their entire starting lineup. But coach Scott Seykora said he feels good about the experience the underclassmen got last year. The girls' team graduated a smaller number of players, but they had played a number of years on the varsity.

The Owatonna girls went 11-4 in 2014. They won their first playoff game before losing to Farmington. Coach Bill Bernard provides this preview of the season.

Owatonna's boys team had a 10-4 record last season, but lost their section playoff opener at Lakeville South. Coach Scott Seykora is optimistic about the upcoming campaign.
