Most of the players from the 2017 state championship Owatonna High School football team participated in the annual Huskies football camp when they were younger. The current group of third through tenth graders can also dream about a state title while getting instruction from the defending champs during the upcoming football camp August 6 through 9.

The camp is non-contact with the main goal of teaching fundamentals of offense, defense and the kicking game and is held at the OHS stadium field and practice field. Players are divided into age groups. Athletes entering seventh through tenth grades will choose a position for offense and defense. Younger players will be taught skills necessary for every position.

Campers will get a special camp t-shirt. A hot dog cookout sponsored by Hy-Vee is scheduled for Wednesday, August 8. Owatonna Parks and Recreation will hold their signup night on Wednesday as well.

The camp is a fast-paced, intense and fun approach to learning football skills. The younger players move quickly from station to station with current and former OHS players providing instruction.

Cost for the event is $70. A registration flyer is available at the Owatonna High School football website.
