With wintery weather rolling into southern Minnesota, Saturday's Section 1AA semifinal boys' hockey tilt between Owatonna and Lakeville North was postponed and rescheduled for Tuesday, February 27 at 5:30PM at the Rec Center in Rochester on 104.9FM and the new Kat Kountry 105 app.

Owatonna (13-11-2) beat Farmington 3-2 Thursday when leading-scorer Tyler Wencl netted the go-ahead goal early in the third period, shortly after the Tigers had evened the game at 2-2. Lakeville North (14-10-2) pulled away from Hastings for a 6-2 win after the game was tied at 0-0 after the first period.

Lakeville has played a stout schedule that has included nine ranked teams. The Panthers have held their own, beating No. 11 Eastview twice and playing to a 2-2 tied with current No. 1 Minnetonka. The Panthers have also lost some close decisions to those ranked teams.

Owatonna coach Josh Storm said on the KRFO coaches show Saturday that the Huskies will take a defensive approach and pack it in tight early with the hope of being close for the third period. North beat Owatonna 10-2 in the semifinals last year.

The other 1AA semifinal between Rochester Century and Lakeville South will also be played Tuesday.

The Section 1A games were held on Saturday. No. 5 seed Rochester Lourdes upset top-seed Albert Lea 3-2 in overtime. The Tigers scored late in the third period to force the extra session. No. 2 seed Mankato East beat third-seed Minnesota River 3-1. The 1A championship game is Wednesday, February 28 at 7PM at the Rec Center.
