Owatonna's gymnastics teams is rated No. 5AA in this week's coaches' poll. The wrestlers hold at No. 6AAA. OHS girls hockey is up a spot to No. 19A.

The defending Section 1AA Owatonna gymnasts are ranked fifth in the latest rankings with their 143.65 season average. The Huskies had a recent meet with No. 4A Austin marred by a broken bar that left the meet as an unofficial event. Their make-up meet at Rochester on Tuesday was postponed when school was canceled in Rochester. OHS hosts Winona on Thursday night at 6:30PM at the Owatonna Gymnastics Club and goes to the Jackson County Central meet on Saturday.

Lakeville North (148.133) is top rated, followed by St. Cloud Tech (144.308), Stillwater (144.033) and Cambridge-Isanti (143.883). No. 19AA Farmington (138.508) is the only other Section 1AA team in the ratings.

The Owatonna wrestling team remained No. 6AAA in the January 13 rankings from The Guillotine. Shakopee held onto the No. 1AAA spot with Apple Valley, Anoka, St. Michael-Albertville and St. Francis behind them. Faribault is the only other Section 1AAA team among the top 20, at No. 19AAA.

Individually from Owatonna, Peyton Robb is No. 1 at 138 pounds, Cade King is No. 3 at 152, Brandon Moen is top-rated at 182, Griffin Thorn is No. 5 at 195 and Goy Tut is back into the rankings at No. 10 at heavyweight.

The Huskies host Rochester John Marshall on Thursday night on KRFO AM 1390 and go to the Zumbrota-Mazeppa tournament on Saturday.

Owatonna's girls hockey team is up one spot this to No. 19A in the Let's Play Hockey poll. Blake is No. 1. Section 1A ranked teams include No. 8A Red Wing and No. 17A Northfield. The Huskies play at the Wingers on Saturday night and host the Raiders on Saturday, January 28, which will be cancer awareness night at the Four Seasons Centre. OHS entertains Rochester Century on Thursday, January 19, at 7PM.

In the girls AA hockey rankings, Section 1 ranked teams include No. 9AA Lakeville South, with Lakeville North and Dodge County each receiving votes. In the boys AA rankings, Section 1 teams appearing are No. 5AA Lakeville North and No. 15AA Lakeville South. For the A boys, Northfield is 15th and Rochester Lourdes is 17th. Stillwater Area is top-rated in AA and Hermantown heads the A poll.

In the boys basketball rankings from Minnesota Basketball News, Section 1AAAA's Lakeville North is third and New Prague is ninth. In AAA, Austin is seventh and Waseca is 10th. In AA, Caledonia is second and Goodhue is fourth in A. The No. 1 teams are Champlin Park, Minneapolis DeLaSalle, Minnehaha Academy and Minneapolis North.

For the girls, Lakeville North is No.5AAAA. Kasson-Mantorville (fourth), Winona (fifth) and Northfield (eighth) are all among the top AAA teams. Plainview-Elgin-Millville (fourth) and Hayfield (ninth) are ranked in AA. Goodhue is second in A with Mankato Loyola (fifth) and Lyle-Pacelli (seventh) joining them in the top 10. The top teams are Hopkins, Holy Angels, Roseau and Mountain Iron-Buhl.
