Big Shots at the Owatonna Gun Club

When I head out to the farm, I take the back roads though Hope and New Richland. This takes me by the Owatonna Gun Club just south of Hope. Last weekend there were campers, cars and people everywhere. There was some sort of target shooting going on as I saw people with shotguns and ammunition pockets. There were men and women of all ages enjoying shooting sports.

This scene reminded me of the state and national FFA conventions. When I am talking with FFA members, I usually ask about other activities they are involved in. Every so often a member will mention the high school shooting team. It is nice to see high school students enjoying a lifetime sport. One point that is really unusual about shooting sports, boys and girls are on the same team. That is not the case in other sports.
