Owatonna girls tennis swept Northfield on Tuesday, then got swept by Rochester Mayo in the 1AA final. The Huskies' girls and boys soccer teams scored one-goal victories.

In girls tennis the Huskies were the No. 3 seed but upset No. 2 Northfield 7-0 in the section semifinals. The Raiders had defeated Owatonna 4-3 during the regular season. Owatonna couldn't do much to crack the Mayo line-up, falling 7-0 to the Spartans in the finals. Owatonna had taken two points from Mayo during the regular season. It's the 19th section title in the past 20 years for Mayo. Section 1AA individual play begins Thursday.

The soccer playoffs began Tuesday with a doubleheader at the Lincoln Soccer Complex in Owatonna. The girls are the No. 4 seed and topped No. 5 Farmington 2-1. The Huskies advance to play top-ranked Lakeville North on Thursday night at 7PM. The Panthers have won four straight section titles and have eliminated Owatonna each of the past two years. No. 7 Century plays at No. 3 Lakeville South on Thursday.

The No. 2 seed Owatonna boys edged No. 7 Century 1-0 to move to Thursday's semifinals at 7PM versus No. 3 Lakeville North at Lincoln. The Huskies beat Lakeville North 2-1 early in the season.
