For the second straight game, Owatonna will face a top 20 team when they hit the ice at the Super Rink in Blaine for the Schwan Cup tournament December 29. They will face Moose Lake Area in a noon face off. The Huskies' (10-3) last outing was a come-from-behind 4-3 win at South St. Paul. The Rebels (10-5) just had a five-game streak snapped. The Huskies are led by Jessica "Betty" VonRuden, who has 20 goals. Moose Lake has a player with 26 goals and 40 points on the season.

Coach Tim Hunst reacted to the win over the Packers as he spoke with KRFO right after the game Saturday, December 19.

Owatonna sophomore defenseman Jamie Davison is playing her second year on the varsity and is among the leading scorers with four goals and five assists. She told KRFO that teamwork is essential to success.

Owatonna sophomore Margo Achterkirch had a three-point game against South St. Paul, assisting on each of VonRuden's third-period goals. Achterkirch spoke with KRFO earlier this season, right after the team returned from a road trip to Eveleth.

Sophomore Rilee Schmidt is enjoying the chance to play on the same team as her sister Chloe.
