The Huskies beat the Panthers 69-60 at the Owatonna High School gym with another strong finish. Lakeville South led 35-32 at the half in the back-and-forth battle.

Four Huskies scored in double figures and two had double-doubles. Sydney Schultz scored 20 points and collected 14 rebounds. Schultz had 32 in Tuesday's win at Mankato East. Lexi Langeland scored 13 with 10 rebounds. Steph Liebl had 14 and Caitlin Anderson added 11.

The win spoiled the homecoming for Owatonna graduate and South coach Angie Iverson-Ohnstad. Owatonna has won three straight since a season-opening loss at Rosemount. The Huskies play at Albert Lea on Friday night at 7:30PM on Kat Kountry 105FM.

Owatonna girls hockey improved to 5-0 in the Big Nine with a 7-0 win over Albert Lea. Jenna Bogen had a hat trick. Margo Achterkirch had a goal and three assists. Anna Herzog scored her first varsity goal, then added another. OHS outshot Albert Lea 32-6. The Huskies go to Waseca on Tuesday.

The Huskies boys hockey lost 4-3 at Albert Lea on Thursday. The Tigers sprinted out to a 3-0 lead after one period. Adam Rehman scored early in the second followed by a Nick Smith goal midway through the stanza to pull the Huskies within 3-2. The Tigers got a little breathing room with a tally in the closing minute of the second. Owatonna's Carter Broton scored early in the third but that ended the scoring. Owatonna goes to defending section champ Farmington on Tuesday with coverage on Kat Kountry 105FM.

Owatonna's gymnastics team, the defending section champs, opened their season with a win over Red Wing. The OHS boys swimmers lost to Red Wing on Thursday.
