Owatonna beat Century 2-1 in the Section 1AA quarterfinals Thursday in Rochester. The Huskies will play top-seed Lakeville North at 11:30AM Saturday in Rochester.

Cam Trout picked quite a time for his first career varsity goal. The senior defenseman notched the game's opening goal at 3:33 of the second period with assists by Mason Oland and Adam Rehman. Tyler Wencl made it 2-0 at 5:07 of the second. Oland assisted on that one too.

The Panthers cut the lead in half at 8:11 of the second as Eric St. Marie finished off a 3-on-2 rush thanks to a nice pass from Will Zmolek.

Leading 2-1 early in the third, it appeared Owatonna had scored again on a scramble at the net. However the official apparently blew the whistle before the puck went in. The one-goal lead stood up for the Huskies. OHS out-shot Century 36-20. Huskies junior Jacob Dub had several big saves among his 19 saves. Owatonna will play top-10 ranked Lakeville North at 11:30AM Saturday in the semifinals. North beat Dodge County 9-0 on Thursday. Farmington and Lakeville South meet in the other semifinal.

Also on Thursday, the Owatonna girls basketball team ended their regular season with an 85-74 victory over Austin. Playoffs begin Wednesday March 1. The OHS boys lost at Austin 73-62. Jay Sullivan led the way with 15 points. The Huskies host Mankato West on Tuesday.
