Owatonna Chamber of Commerce Hosts Picnic Lunch for Members

The Owatonna Chamber of Commerce and Tourism hosted its annual "Thanks with Franks" event on Thursday, treating its members to a picnic lunch.

With members of the Owatonna Chamber staff grilling and serving hot dogs, chips and beverages, members stopped by for a quick lunch and some conversation.

The "Sundays in the State" summer movie series wraps up this weekend with Remember the Titans at dusk August 28 in the former State Theater site in downtown Owatonna. The series has shown a movie from each of five decades.

The Owatonna Chamber of Commerce will be a co-sponsor of a series of candidate forums in October. Sessions will focus on the races for Steele County commissioner, Owatonna city council, Owatonna school board and the state House and Senate contests. Each forum will offer the chance for the public to ask questions. Election day is November 8.

The chamber also announces that sponsors are being sought for a couple of the 2017 business after hours events.
