The Owatonna boys soccer team earned its first victory of the season with a 3-0 shutout of Albert Lea. The OHS girls lost a 1-0 decision at Albert Lea.

The Owatonna boys entered play Tuesday with an 0-2-1 record, having trailed for only about five minutes of game play. Nate Smith broke a halftime scoreless match with a goal about two minutes into the second stanza. Brice Lauwers and Brodee Stanford added their first varsity marker. OHS goes to Northfield on Thursday and hosts Minnetonka as part of a girls-boys doubleheader Saturday.

The OHS girls lost at Albert Lea on Tuesday 1-0 and will host the Raiders on Thursday.

Blooming Prairie volleyball got swept at Austin on Tuesday 25-9, 25-15, 25-23. Coach Ranell Kittelson said in an email, "Overall tonight was a match of too many unforced errors and not showing up on serve receive. There was a lot of things that did not click for us tonight, which led to a quick loss." She added, "We will be focusing on our passing and fine tuning our setting as we see a tough conference match up at Medford on Thursday."

The Tigers won a back-and-forth match with St. Clair. The Cyclones took the opener 25-22. Medford sailed to a 2-1 lead with 25-11 and 25-17 scores. St. Clair evened with match with another 25-22 winner. Medford closed out the win with a 15-11 score.

No. 1A Faribault Bethlehem Academy shutout No. 6AA Stewartville 25-14, 25-19, 25-21. The Cardinals survived the loss of starter Meagan Donahue to a leg injury in pregame warm ups.

Triton defeated Waseca 3-1 by set scores of 25-14, 21-25, 26-24, 25-17.
