OHS beat Albert Lea in boys and girls basketball Friday night. The boys opened their season with a home triumph 79-48. The Huskies girls won 81-45 at Albert Lea.

The Owatonna boys forced 41 turnovers on their way to a 79-48 win over Albert Lea. OHS led 38-24 at the half. Dalton Kubista led the Huskies with 14 points. Andrew Jackson had 13 points, eight rebounds and a dunk. Alex Raichle and Jadyn Gunderson each contributed 12. The Huskies go to Northfield on Tuesday night at 7:30PM.

The OHS girls got off to a slow start and trailed 8-3 at the Albert Lea gym. The Huskies started an all-senior lineup, which is not their usual combination. Owatonna went on a 21-3  run after some substitutions were made and were not threatened again. Jenna Zeman led the way with 19 points, which included five three-pointers. Sydney Schultz had 15 points. Megan Peglow and Caitlin Anderson each added eight. Owatonna (4-1, 3-0 in the Big Nine) hosts No. 10-AAA Northfield Tuesday at 7:30PM.
