Owatonna Boys Basketball Eliminated from Playoffs by Lakeville South

The Cougars raced out to a big first half lead and defeated the Huskies 71-55 Wednesday in the Section 1AAAA quarterfinals at South High School in Lakeville.

South, the No. 3 seed, drilled nine three-pointers in the first half on their way to a 48-23 advantage at the break. The Huskies outscored the Cougars after halftime, but the damage was done and Owatonna's season ended with a 14-13 record. The seniors on the Huskies' roster includes Nick Raichle, Alex Emanuelson, Jake Borchert, Mason Thein and Eli Havelka. The Cougars face No. 2 seed Rochester JM Saturday at 2:45PM at the Mayo Civic Center Arena.
