For years Owatonna and Northfield were in different conferences but the same section. That has reversed recently, as the Big Nine schools are in different sections now.

The Owatonna girls put a four-game winning streak on the line against No. 10AAA Northfield on Tuesday at OHS at 7:30PM. The Raiders are 4-0 and are holding teams to just 30 points per game. The teams split their games last season. Owatonna is 4A for basketball.

The OHS boys (1-0) play in Northfield (2-1) at 7:30PM with the game on KRFO AM 1390. The rivalry between the Huskies and Raiders spills over from the football field as well, having played each other four times of the past two seasons. In basketball, they traded a pair of close decisions last season.

Owatonna boys hockey (1-2) hits the road to face the defending section championship at Farmington (3-3). The Tigers graduated their top six scorers off last season's state tournament team. Face off is at 7PM on Kat Kountry 105FM.

The Huskies girls hockey team goes to Waseca (2-4) for a 7PM game. Owatonna (5-1) has allowed just two goals over the past four games. The Huskies beat the Bluejays in last season's playoffs.
