The Owatonna American Legion team is in a must-win scenario from here on out. The VFW is in their second weekend of playoffs. The Aces wrap up their regular season this weekend.

Owatonna Legion baseball plays the Rochester Redhawks at Massey Field at Mayo High School in Rochester on Friday at 1PM. The winner plays again at 4PM. The loser is eliminated from the sub-state tournament. Owatonna Post 77 is the sixth seed. The Redhawks are seventh. The teams split a doubleheader in Owatonna in late June.

VFW Post 3723 won their playoff games last weekend to advance to the final four of the First District this weekend in Northfield. No. 3 seed Owatonna will play second seed Century at 12:30PM Saturday. Top seed Northfield opens the day facing fourth seed Red Wing at 10AM. This is a double-elimination tournament. The losers play at 3PM. The winners square off at 5:30PM. Games continue on Sunday at 11AM and 1:30PM. If a second championship game is needed, it will be played Monday at 5PM.

The Owatonna Aces are scheduled for a home game Friday night against the Rochester Road Runners at 7:30PM at Fuller Field at Dartt's Park. They go to Hayfield Sunday 2PM game. Playoffs begin July 31.
