Albert Lea wrestling topped Owatonna in a close dual at Owatonna High School. The Huskies girls basketball team and both hockey teams lost close games as well.

OWATONNA

No. 3AA Albert Lea edged Owatonna wrestling 32-27 at OHS on Saturday night. The match wasn't technically for the Big Nine title, as the Tigers have two more conference meets. The Huskies and Tigers are both in the Panther Duals tournament Friday at Lakeville North.

Rochester Mayo girls basketball 56-50 over the Huskies to split the season series. Owatonna hosts Mankato West on Tuesday.

No. 15 Rochester JM/Lourdes girls hockey blanked Owatonna 3-0 at the Four Seasons Centre. The Huskies entertain No. 11AA Dodge County on Tuesday. The Rockets are 14-0 in the Big Nine and will square off with Red Wing (12-0 in the conference) Saturday Jan. 31. Girls hockey playoffs begin Feb. 4.

John Marshall boys hockey beat OHS 3-2 at the Rec Center. The Huskies host Parents' Night and Senior Night on Thursday with Winona.
