OHS tops A. Lea; Mayo DH next

Owatonna High School baseball beat Albert Lea Wednesday 11-2 and will host Rochester Mayo in a key conference double header at Dartt's Park Thursday starting at 4:00.

Ryan Steiskal and Luke Wanous handled pitching duties. Riley Thompson hit a home run in Wednesday's 11-2 Huskies win at Albert Lea in a make-up game. The Huskies host Mayo at 4:00 Thursday in a double header at Dartt's Park with radio coverage on KRFO AM 1390.

Mayo has edged ahead of Owatonna into first place in the Big Nine at 12-2. OHS is 11-2. Rochester JM is third at 10-2. The Huskies and Rockets split a twin bill last Friday. JM swept Mayo earlier.

In other Wednesday sports, OHS softball lost to Big Nine leading Mayo 8-3 and the boys lacrosse team topped Tartan 13-9.
