The Owatonna High School boys soccer team beat Northfield 2-1 to advance to the Section 1AA finals again! The OHS girls lost at top seed Lakeville North 5-1.

BOYS SOCCER

The OHS boys get a chance at a three-peat after coming from behind to beat Northfield 2-1 on Thursday at the Lincoln Soccer Complex. The Huskies will play for their third straight section crown when they go to Rochester JM Tuesday night at 7:00. The top-seed Rockets beat Owatonna 3-1 on September 11.

On Thursday Northfield struck first and controlled the tempo of play. The Huskies rallied back with a goal from Noah Amundson late in the first half. The winner came from Jared Becker with less than nine minutes remaining.

GIRLS SOCCER

Owatonna lost to top seed & number-two ranked Lakeville North 5-1. The Huskies season ends with a 11-5-2 record. Seniors on the team included Sydney Kasper, Morgan Malo, Rachel Smith, Taylor Gaveske, Kathryn DuFrene, Abby Bendorf, and Anna Edel.

GIRLS TENNIS

Owatonna's Briana Hartmann has advanced to the finals of the section individual singles tournament. Hartmann is a two-time state qualifier.

VOLLEYBALL

OHS swept Red Wing on Thursday. The Huskies play at the St. Michael-Albertville Tournament on Friday and Saturday. Owatonna goes to #1 ranked Faribault Bethlehem Academy on Monday. Then Tuesday it's the home regular season finale against Austin.

Rochester Mayo scored a 3-0 sweep over Faribault. That gives the Spartans the outright Big Nine Conference Championship!

GIRLS SWIMMING

Owatonna scored a great 94-92 win over Faribault at the Owatonna Junior High Pool.
