Extra point attempts made for plenty of drama in NRHEG's 14-12 double overtime win at Norwood-Young America Friday night, the Panthers first win of the season. After playing to a scoreless regulation tie, NRHEG lost the coin toss for overtime and started with the ball. Perry Peterson scored on a ten-yard run, but the extra point kick was no good. NYA connected on a TD pass to tie the game. They went for the PAT kick for the win, but coach Dan Stork said the Panthers put on enough pressure to force a miss, leaving the game tied at 6-6.

The Raiders had the ball first in the second overtime. They ran in the touchdown and went for the kick again. This time the Panthers blocked the attempt. NRHEG scored on a one-yard run by Peterson and went for two. Peterson hit Brady Agrimson for the win, and the only completed pass of the night for the Panthers, who won 14-12.

Many stats were equal. NRHEG had 244 total yards. NYA has 243. Each team average about 33 yards per punt. Time of possession was 27 minutes for the Panthers and 21 for the Raiders. Peterson carried the ball 32 times, gaining 231 yards. NRHEG (1-2) hosts Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Friday night in their homecoming game.

Blooming Prairie improved to 3-0 with a balanced attack in their 40-14 win at Wabasha-Kellog. Coach Chad Gimbel reported on Saturday's coaches show that BP rushed for 286 yards and passed for 200. BP hosts Winona Cotter Friday.

Triton surrendered the first touchdown of the game to Chatfield, but scored the next 48 points on their way to a 54-24 victory. Coach Don Henderson said the Cobras amassed 504 total yards, about 400 of those on the ground. Triton hosts St. Charles Friday on Tackle Cancer Night. It will also be the recognition night for the hall of fame.

Medford lost the Battle for the Paddle to Bethlehem Academy 32-0. Tigers' coach Jerome Johannes said the game was close through three quarters, with the Cardinals up 13-0 at that point. BA has only allowed 12 combined points through three games this season. Medford hosts Mayer-Lutheran Friday.

Owatonna won a track meet at Austin 70-36, that featured a seven-touchdown day from the Huskies' Jason Williamson. The game see-sawed back-and-forth in a 2:30 span of the second quarter with six touchdowns. The Huskies go to Rochester John Marshall Friday.
