New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva High School Christmas concert was Monday, December 14, at 7:30PM. Jennifer Fredickson is the choir director and Jacob Bender was on piano and is also the band director.

The NRHEG concert will be on AM1390 KRFO Thursday, December 17, at 10AM and again on Friday, December 18, at 2PM.

The concert began with a portion of the band playing "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer."

The concert choir has 59 members, and 17 are seniors. They sang five songs. First up was "A Festival Holiday," which had Nicole Edon on xylophone, Emma Tollefson playing the tambourine and Mircedes Mattson on bongos.

Sweden exchange student Linnea Strom-Olsen sang a portion of a solo on "Tand ett Ljus," a traditional Swedish Christmas song, which means "Light a Candle."

The next song was "White Christmas," which the audience was invited to sing along with.

Aaron Seath, Whittney McCamish and Nicole Edon were soloists on "Winterlight."

The last song for the concert choir was "Nutcracker Jingles." There was also a duet by Renee McNett and Carma Pederson singing "Santa Baby."

The concert band has 47 members and played three songs.

First was "Jubilance." Next was "Season of Peace," and it was explained this song was played on Christmas Day during World War I as a Christmas truce.

The third song by the concert band was "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24," made popular by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The band did receive a standing ovation.

The very last song of the evening was a combination of the band and choir. This year it was "O Come, All Ye Faithful." The nice part is that the audience was invited to sing along and the words were in the program.

Once again, the NRHEG Concert will be on AM190 KRFO Thursday, December 17, at 10AM and again on Friday, December 18, at 2PM.
