2004 Owatonna High School graduate Nicole McCann was an eighth grader when her grandfather Ev Berg was inducted into the OHS Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999. Berg, who passed away in 2012, started the cross country program at OHS and was its longtime coach. McCann fondly remembers running with Berg and hoped she would someday join him in the hall of fame. That day came Friday September 8 when McCann and four others were inducted.

McCann lettered 11 times in cross country and track. She was a semifinalist for Minnesota's Runner of the Year award in 2001.

Tricia Hoffman graduated in 1993 after lettering in four sports and being part of the first-ever OHS girls basketball team to go to state. She cherishes her time spent with teammates.

1966 Owatonna graduate Marshall Wright was an All-State defensive lineman in 1965 and a member of the All-Century team at OHS. He enjoyed many aspects of sports from playing to coaching to officiating.

Ron Phillips coached varsity tennis for nearly 20 years and says the hall of fame honor must be shared with the athletes and coaches he worked with.

Jim Herzog enters the hall as a community member. He was a longtime administrator, both principal and athletic director. During his time in education Title IX went into affect, giving girls the same opportunity as boys.

The hall of fame was founded in 1995 and now has 115 members. Plaques honoring the inductees are featured in the hallway outside the Owatonna High School gym.
