Chris Stapleton continues his meteoric rise in country music as From A Room: Volume 1 tattooed its name all over the Billboard charts this week.

The new album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard Country Albums, No. 1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales with 202,000 pure album units, and No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200 with over 218,000 overall first-week sales. It marks the strongest sales week by a country act since Luke Bryan’s Kill the Lights in 2015. Its 13.5 million audio on-demand streams also marks the highest all-time streaming debut for any country artist.

Volume 1 was recorded during the winter of 2016-17 and earned its name from Nashville's historic RCA Studio A on Music Row, where Stapleton once worked with Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb. The album features nine new songs from Stapleton, including his heart-wrenching radio single "Either Way," Spotify favorite "Broken Halos" and a cover of Willie Nelson's “Last Thing I Needed, First Thing This Morning."

The album was a long-awaited follow-up to Stapleton's 2015 double-platinum solo debut Traveller, which yielded high power singles such as "Nobody to Blame," "Traveller" and a ubiquitous cover of George Jones' "Tennessee Whiskey." Also, though Volume 1 has five less tracks than Stapleton's 2015 debut, he promises that the second half of the album, From A Room: Volume 2, will be out later this year.

An extensive tour, dubbed Chris Stapleton’s All-American Road Show, has also been launched in support of the album and will carry on through November 2017. Special guests on the tour include Brothers Osborne, Lucie Silvas, Anderson East, Brent Cobb, Margo Price and Marty Stuart.
