It lasted about an hour this morning, according to Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn.

Rice County Sheriff's deputies were advised of a pursuit of a stolen vehicle in Dakota County about 9:33AM.

A deputy responded to the area of Stanton Boulevard and Alta Avenue, east of Northfield. Dakota County law enforcement advised they had lost the vehicle in the area of County Road 47 and Arkansas Avenue, northeast of Northfield.

Dunn says at 9:41AM a Rice County Deputy located the stolen Lincoln Town Car heading south on Alta Avenue. The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle at an intersection and the vehicle fled east on Stanton Boulevard. The deputy began pursuit. The vehicle turned north on Highway 56 fleeing from the deputy.

Dunn says two attempts were made by assisting law enforcement agencies in Dakota County to deploy spike strips, and the fleeing vehicle swerved and avoided the strips each time. The vehicle then turned on 250th and fled toward Highway 52.

At 9:49AM, Rice County terminated the pursuit because the deputy was not familiar with the area and had no immediate assistance. Dunn pointed out the deputy continued to monitor the vehicle heading east and advised Dakota County agencies.

The vehicle crashed on 250th near Highway 52 and a lone male fled from the vehicle toward Greg's Meats in Hampton.

The Rice County deputy pursued the man on foot and the man pulled a woman out of her vehicle in the parking lot of Greg's Meats and took the vehicle, heading south on Highway 52. The Rice County deputy remained with the victim of the car-jacking.

Dunn says at about 10:15AM, Rice County deputies were advised of a stolen vehicle from the 13000 block of Lamb Avenue, north of Nerstrand. The vehicle stolen from the Hampton parking lot was left at the Lamb Avenue location and a pickup was stolen from that area.

At 10:23AM, Goodhue County deputies located the pickup in the area of 410th Street and pursued the vehicle. At 10:27AM, Goodhue County advised the vehicle had crashed in a field on 20th Avenue between 410th and 420th streets.

A foot pursuit ended in the arrest of 20-year-old Jordan Allen Brown of Inver Grove Heights. Brown was turned over to Dakota County authorities for charges related to alleged theft and fleeing in a motor vehicle in Dakota County.

Dunn says his officers will also forward reports to the Rice County Attorney's Office for possible charges of allegedly fleeing a peace officer, motor vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

Dunn added, "We appreciate the cooperative effort of all law enforcement agencies involved in this crime spree to bring this suspect into custody. He showed a blatant disregard of authority, to all the people he victimized and to all of the motoring public on our roadways. We are pleased to have him in custody."
