Tackle Cancer Night hits home hard for the Medford Tigers with a player on the roster recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. "Team Logan" t-shirts are for sale to benefit sophomore Logan Pleschourt as he battles the disease. Football coach Jerome Johannes said, "We're going to be raising money for one of our players...We're just here to help him and support his family."

The Tigers host United South Central with a 7PM kickoff Wednesday October 18 to wrap up the regular season. Medford is hoping to build off of its first win of the season Friday at Minnesota Valley Lutheran. Javis VonRuden passed for about 300 yards and three touchdowns in the 29-14 win. Willie VonRuden caught a pair of 50-yard touchdowns and rushed in another. Medford (1-6) has lost three games by ten points or less.

In other action, Blooming Prairie (6-1) faces a big section seeding game at Rushford-Peterson (6-1) on Kat Kountry 105FM. The winner will land the number two seed in Section 1A behind top-rated Goodhue. NRHEG (3-4) entertains Lake Crystal-Welcome Memorial (1-6). The Panthers may have secured a home playoff game with their win last week at LeSueur-Henderson.

Triton (6-1) closes the regular season hosting Class AAA Zumbrota-Mazeppa (3-4) at 7PM in Dodge Center Wednesday on KDHL AM 920. Owatonna (6-1) looks to rebound from their last-second loss at Northfield as they play at New Prague (2-5) on KRFO AM 1390 at 7PM. Faribault plays at Mankato East at 7PM on Power 96 radio.

Playoffs begin Tuesday October 24, through Owatonna will have a first round bye.
