Sooner is better than later if you are planning on mailing packages for Christmas. The U.S. Postal Service says it expects to deliver 750 million packages this holiday season. If you include Christmas cards and letters, they estimate they’ll deliver 16 billion items of cheer. The postal service says volume is up again this year.

Letter mail has fallen off but that has been replaced by people buying packages and things over the internet and those are being shipped by mail.

December 15 is the deadline to mail packages to get there in time for Christmas. December 20 is the deadline for mail. Dec. 21 for Priority mail and Dec. 23 for priority mail express.

Be sure items being shipped are wrapped properly and breakables are securely wrapped to help protect them from possible damage.

Long story short as we have been told for many years, mail early.
