Burkhartzmeyer Shoes in downtown Faribault opened its doors in 1949. It is a third-generation shoe store with a loyal clientele. In a world of online shopping and big box stores, it's rare to see people of all ages appreciating and shopping at a local shoe shop. But it's also rare to find the customer service, certified pedorthists, repair services and dedication to the community that Burkhartzmeyer offers.

With an ongoing efforts to enhance and support the community and preserve area history, the Burkhartzmeyers have made a stamp on Faribault. From working to save a historic clock to serving on boards, the Burkhartzmeyer family and staff have proven time and again that they care about Faribault and the people who live here. Recently, the Burkhartzmeyer Shoe Store was the subject of a "Finding Minnesota" episode on WCCO, the local CBS affiliate in Minneapolis-St. Paul. The clip gives a brief insight into the history of Burkhartzmeyer Shoes and some of the services they offer.
